Don Chadwick, designer of the Herman Miller Aeron chair, lends his name and design hand to the Knoll Chadwick chair. The clean, simple design minimizes user controls to two points of manual adjustment (seat height and recline tension). Remaining adjustments are handled by the Chadwick chair’s spring-loaded Active Suspension mechanism which synchronizes recline and tilt tension, opening the users torso on recline and maintaining contact with the user and the seat back. The tight-woven mesh fabric ventilates while conforming to each individuals curves. This personal fit minimizes pressure points and reduces sitting fatigue. Knoll Chadwick Chair Features. Suspension fabric’s elastomeric construction conforms to your body’s shape, reducing pressure points while offering comfort and air flow. Variable seat depth automatically adjusts to fit almost everyone (range of 16.9″ – 19.4″). Forward seat tilt adjusts automatically to allow you to sit forward while typing to maintain a healthy lordotic curve, increasing stability and reducing fatigue. Flexing armpads are designed like a suspension bridge so they flex to offer additional “give” to eliminate pressure points on your arms. Standard, adjustable arms offer lever-free 2.5″ height adjustment range and 1″ width adjustment (0.5 inward or outward). Soft molded tension adjustment knob ensures each user approximately 17 levels of customized comfort when reclining. Standard adjustable arms – User-friendly and include height adjustability and armpad-width positioning. No lever required to adjust the height; simply move the arms up in five 0.5″ increments for a total of 2.5″. To lower the arms, lift them to the highest point and pull up firmly; they will return to the lowest point. Leverless and easy-to-maneuver arm height adjustment. Using a 5/32″ Allen wrench, the armpads can be moved outward 0.5″ or inward 0.5″ from center for a total of 1″. Tall adjustable arms – Give 0.75 more height to the arm to meet the BIFMA tall end of the range. As with the seat height cylinder, BIFMA allows manufacturers to meet the specification with one or more arms. Work on both hard and carpeted floors. The Chadwick’s proprietary elastomeric suspension fabric is black. The tilt stop is an upright tilt limiter. When specified, it is the lever on the left side of the chair. With a sculpted lever, the seat height adjustment is easy to find and operate.
